Maya Diaz, Associate Online Editor-in-Chief

Maya Diaz is a senior and The Mirror’s Online Editor. This is her second semester in journalism but outside of journalism, one of her greatest passions is music, specifically singing. She loves learning new instruments and music theory, as well as helping lead the Choir Program. Besides music, she enjoys playing video games and hanging out with her dogs. After high school she plans to go to a university for music and pursue either vocals or music production.

PLAY FOR AWARENESS | The football teams made their entrance through a tunnel of cheerleaders. Later at the football game, the team wore pink socks as they played against Reseda. After winning 38-0, pink confetti rained down on the bleachers as the students celebrated the team's victory.

Playing for awareness

On Oct. 13th, the wolves celebrated the upcoming football game with a pep rally featuring performances from the band, cheer team and dance company.

Donna Hubbard fue la primera directora femenina del preparatoria de Van Nuys High School. Se unió a la facultad como profesora de español en 1920 y  continuó trabajando su camino hasta convertirse en la vicedirectora de las estudiantes femeninas en 1924, antes de ser la directora de toda la escuela en 1935. Aquí es la vicedirectora de las chicas en 1929.

LA HISTORIA DE ELLA: El legado de Donna Hubbard en el instituto Van Nuys

En este Mes de la Historia de la Mujer, Donna Hubbard destaca como la antigua directora del colegio, madura, sabia y compasiva. Tras incorporarse como profesora de español en 1920, fue ascendiendo hasta convertirse en la primera mujer directora del centro y dirigió a los alumnos durante la Gran Depresión y el comienzo de la Segunda Guerra Mundial.
