From trekking through national parks in Washington to scouring pictures on the internet at home, pursuing all things aesthetic is my favorite way to realize my values and dreams. As a new voice at Van Nuys High School’s Journalism team, my aspiration is to appreciate the untold stories that surround us in our daily lives and share them with everyone else. In my spare time, I can be found searching for (through elaborate testing) the ideal sleeping position.
Abigail Kim, Staff Writer
Abigail Kim is a second year staff writer for The Mirror’s Opinion section. The power of a good book is a force Kim readily succumbs to. A delectable story fills her with the greatest joy, and inventing tales offers a luscious meal for her hungry brain. Abigail’s greatest wish as a returning journalist is to communicate the wonderful quirks of the world through her perspective and to share the divine opinions of every viewpoint. In the eccentric witch’s brew of her mind, she weaves characters, conflict, and emotions in fictional writing and dancing, or, as she likes to call it, storytelling with the body. Abigail’s greatest passion in life is to spread the love of Jesus Christ. On a separate note, if she’s not hunched over her computer, you can find her chomping away on dark chocolate or shrieking at the top of her lungs at a KPOP concert.
Maya Diaz, Associate Online Editor-in-Chief
Maya Diaz is a senior and The Mirror’s Online Editor. This is her second semester in journalism but outside of journalism, one of her greatest passions is music, specifically singing. She loves learning new instruments and music theory, as well as helping lead the Choir Program. Besides music, she enjoys playing video games and hanging out with her dogs. After high school she plans to go to a university for music and pursue either vocals or music production.
