Newsom tells world leaders that Trump is temporary
During a recent speech at the Munich Security Conference, California Governor Gavin Newsom spoke to world leaders about the future of American leadership. According to reports by Politico, Newsom said that President Donald Trump represents a temporary period in U.S politics.
“Donald Trump is temporary,’’ he said. ‘’He’ll be gone in three years.’’
Newsom talked mainly about climate issues, explaining how California has continued toward clean energy goals even as federal environmental rules have changed. He tried to reassure other countries that many Americans still support climate action. While Newsom was the most direct speaker on this theme, many world leaders expressed similar concerns. For example, European leaders like German Chancellor Friedrich Merz emphasized that the United States cannot act alone and that restoring trust with allies is important.
“In the era of great power rivalry, even the United States will not be powerful enough to go it alone,” he said. “Dear friends, being a part of NATO is not only Europe’s competitive advantage. It is also the United States’ competitive advantage.”
Trump’s comment on Bad Bunny’s halftime show
Even though almost a week has passed after the Superbowl, discussions are still rapidly growing throughout the Superbowl community. However, one problem is shared along those lines that caused discourse. During the half time show, Bad Bunny performed and created a thrilling atmosphere around the stadium as people danced along. However, the faces of those who were experiencing this moment weren’t all cheery.
A core part of this is Trump’s comment about the performance on his social media platform Truth Social. The president expressed pure hatred towards Bad Bunny’s performance.
“A slap in the face,” he said. “Absolutely terrible, one of the worst, EVER! An affront to the Greatness of America. Nobody understands a word this guy is saying.”
This caused outrage among the community, especially because Bad Bunny’s performance held a lot of symbolism. Regardless, Bad Bunny is the first to take home a Grammy for a full Spanish album, then proceeded to perform at the Superbowl halftime show.
Accountability for people in Epstein Files
As the release of the Epstein files affect politics, government, business and Hollywood, accountability is still uncertain. People associated with Epstein and whose names were mentioned in the files are now facing persecutions and backlash. Particularly, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, the former British Prince, alleged by Epstein victim Virginia Giuffre to have sexually assaulted her, lost his royal title and house and is now facing a criminal investigation. In Washington, lawmakers from both parties are calling for greater transparency, and some requested additional investigations. With investigations still going and more information still being released to the public, accountability for those affiliated is ongoing.
