This year’s Met Gala theme was “Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion.” See the most memorable looks from this year’s event.

Gigi Hadid in Thom Browne and Chopard

Supermodel Gigi Hadid wore a custom off-the-shoulder white Thom Browne gown. The skirt of the dress made the illusion of a suit jacket. The supposed suit jacket was covered in yellow roses and vines. To complete the look, she wore Chopard jewelry.

Gwendoline Christie in Maison Margiela

“Game of Thrones” and “Wednesday” star Gwendoline Christie wore a custom design by Maison Margiela designer John Galliano inspired by the Spring 2024 Collection. Christie wore a straight neckline and a blood-orange silk down, completing the look with a black silk tulle theatrical coat.

Lana Del Rey in Alexander McQueen

Fresh off her memorable Coachella headline, singer Lana Del Rey returns to the Met Gala for the first time since 2018. Alexander McQueen designer Seán McGirr pulled inspiration from the fall 2006 collection, dressing Lana Del Ray in a corseted gown with bronze bullion thorns encircled in matching tulle.

Zendaya in Maison Margiela by John Galliano

Co-Chair member Zendaya wore a custom Margiela gown by John Galliano, based on the Spring 1999 Dior collection.  The one-shoulder, deep blue and forest green gown was topped with a peacock feather-plumed hat. This was only Zendaya’s first look before changing into two other outfits.

Ayo Edebiri in Loewe

First-time attendee and “The Bear” breakout star Ayo Edibri dazzled at the gala in a custom Lowew white embroidered halter-neck dress. The entire floor-length gown was adorned in spray-painted applique white to colorful ombre flowers. Her look was complete with a dewy makeup look and unique pink blush.

Greta Lee in Loewe

“Past Lives” actress Greta Lee recently made her Met Gala debut in custom Loewe, following her massive success in 2023. The actress’s gown took inspiration from the Spring 2023 Collection. The strong sculptural shape blends well with the white fabric and her natural makeup look.

Tyla in Balmain

Singer Tyla, famous for her single “Water,” stole the show in her sand sculpture dress. Inspired by the sands of time, she is in a Balmain floor-length gown with a mermaid train covered in sand. To complete the look, she carried an hourglass Balmain clutch.

Elle Fanning in Balmain and Cartier

Actress Elle Fanning stunned the crowd with her sheer sculpture esk custom Balmain dress. The frozen dress has two “frozen in time” bird sculptures on the shoulders. Her sheer dress was adorned with Cartier jewels.

Alia Bhatt in Sabyasachi

Actress Alia Bhatt wore a custom mint green and baby pink Sabyasachi sari for the Met Gala. The sari was embroidered and embellished with real gems and a 23-foot-long train.

Harris Reed and Demi Moore in Harris Reed

British fashion designer Harris Reed and actress Demi Moore attended the event on Monday. Both wore Reed’s designs. The designer wore a blue and gold floral wallpaper-esque paint suit with an intricate headpiece. Actress Demi Moore’s dress was made of recycled material.
