GIRLS BASKETBALL | The Wolves look ready to win the whole division

The Wolves have continued to crush opponents with a 61-19 win on Feb. 5. They are currently playing in a league tournament, which will end on Feb. 11.

The bottom line | On senior night, the team’s last league game at home, The girls basketball team beat the Horace Mann team on Feb. 2 64-20. Since then, the Wolves have continued to crush opponents with a 61-19 win on Feb. 5. They are currently playing in a league tournament, with that ending on Feb. 11.

Highlights |

  • Kaella Chin and Allison Prieto shot crucial free- throws that gave them a good boost at the start of the game.
  • Kali Coleman and Trace Hernandez each shot a couple three-pointers.
  • The girls had great communication and passing during the game that led them to winning with a double-digit score.

The word on campus | “The team will give it their all until the last minute, which is how the girls basketball team defeated Horace Munn by double digits,” said audience member Fernanda Garcia.

Our thoughts | Anybody that has watched even a single game would probably have the same thought: the team will continue to win and go deep into the playoffs. The team has a great relationship with each other on and off the court, which translates to good communication throughout each game. This is a difficult skill for any basketball team to master, but it is so useful for strong passing. Even the games that the girls have rough first quarters, they always seem to find the rallies necessary to win.

For the books |

  • 11 wins, 4 losses
  • 6-1 League record
  • Division: Valley Mission
