Ms. Moreno joins the Wolfpack as the new art teacher.

1. What made you choose to teach at Van Nuys?

At first I was just looking for openings. When I had my interview, the way they spoke to me, spoke about the school and the students, I knew it was a good place for me.

2. What subject do you teach, and how long have you been teaching it? Is there another subject you would have been interested in teaching as well?

I teach art, and I’ve been teaching it for a year. I would have been interested in teaching Spanish as well.

3. What are you looking forward to in their new year at Van Nuys?

Just being able to engage the students interest with the projects I have for them.

4. How has it been so far adjusting to a new school?

Adjusting was okay, it was just different.

5. What was your first impression of the school?

The campus is nice. With my classroom, I had to put a lot of work into it, for it to look the way it does. With the students, so far everything has been going well.

6. Was teaching your first career choice?

No, I wanted to be a doctor, I always wanted to do it as a kid. Either a heart surgeon or a gynecologist.

7. Outside of school, what do you enjoy doing?

I like hanging out with my friends, reading, doing art, and playing sports. I play rugby.

8. What is one thing you want everyone to know about you?

I want my students to get to know me a little bit. We don’t have to be friends but I think it always works best when there’s a clicks.
