As homecoming approaches, students are buzzing with excitement for the annual court elections. This year’s candidates represent a vibrant mix of personalities, each bringing their own unique flair and dedication to the event.
Ethan Lew, a junior, is vying for a spot on the homecoming court. He believes that earning a place among the court signifies recognition and support from peers, a sentiment that fuels his campaign.
“I was inspired to see if I could win homecoming royalty despite having little to no popularity,” Lew said.
Ethan is known for his supportiveness towards classmates, which he considers his perfect quality. A member of the marching band and junior board, he embodies school spirit by connecting with fellow students.
“School spirit means a sense of pride and bonding with each other,” Lew said. “Good luck and have fun to everyone at homecoming!”
Sophomore Dailyn Plummer is running for Duchess, motivated by a desire to celebrate her grade’s qualities and the diversity of the school.
“Earning a spot on the homecoming court means reflecting the best of our grade,” Plummer said.
Dailyn’s outgoing nature shines through as she eagerly engages in school activities, from musical theater to varsity volleyball.
“You have to set your priorities.” Plummer said.
Leaving a message to her fellow candidates, reminding them that regardless of the outcome, the journey itself is a rewarding experience.
Also running for junior royalty is Isabella Murrieta, who sees her candidacy as a personal growth opportunity.
“Getting a spot on the homecoming court shows how I’m continuing to grow every day,” Murrieta said.
Her determination is a defining quality and she emphasizes the importance of stepping out of one’s comfort zone. In her first year with the Crafts for a Cause club, Murrieta aims to balance her responsibilities while engaging with the school community.
“To experience new things, you need to put yourself out there,” she advises.
Dilan Patton, also a junior, is in the running for Homecoming Prince. He believes his involvement in the school’s arts program showcases his commitment to school spirit.
“It means I made a positive impression on my peers,” Patton said of his nomination.
Dilan’s participation in various musical activities, from directing to performing, highlights his passion. He encourages others to stay true to themselves.
“You should never let someone change you,” he said.
Senior Hudson Mirsky is ready to claim a spot among the royalty, aspiring to be crowned king.
With his girlfriend as the commissioner, Hudson is motivated by school spirit.
“I’ve participated in every single event for the past four years,” Mirsky said.
His dedication to themed days and club participation is evident. Hudson reminds students not to worry about opinions, as life beyond high school is full of change.
