  • With only five minutes left i the fourth quarter the Jaguars were able to climb their way out of the Wolves’ defense and score a touchdown
  • By the end of the fourth quarter the Wolves started to slack, having two false starts causing them to give up ten yards in total
  • The Jaguars were able to see that the Wolves’ defense was beginning to slack off so they took their chance to score a game ending touchdown with three minutes left in the game

What’s next | The team’s next game will be played as an away game on Sept. 20, against West Adams High School. The Wolves’ following game is against Panorama High School on Sept. 27.

Team thoughts | “I think we did really well, we never gave up but at the end of the day it’s just a game of inches and one play can change anything,” Captain and quarterback Carlos Herrera said. “Those false starts that started to happen in the fourth quarter is just something that we have to work on at practice and something that we need to get better at. Over time we will get better at it and the result will be different.”

Our thoughts |  This game was a rollercoaster to watch. At times the Wolves would lead then the Jaguars would quickly take the power back. Even though it was tough to watch the Wolves lose their first home game, it was still very entertaining and interesting to watch.

Isabel Valles, Athletics Editor
Through participating in multiple sports writing competitions, I was able to prove my commitment to the class and was chosen to become sports editor in my second year of journalism. My love for sports writing came around the time my love for sports developed around 6 years ago. Another thing I love about writing about sports is being able to inform and catch up readers about games that they may have missed. Currently I play three sports, flag football, track and field, and basketball. After high school I plan on attending either the University of Pennsylvania or the University of Santa Cruz. My goal for this year as editor is to become a better leader and learn from any mistakes that I might make in the process.
