Highlights |
- The Wolves got on the board by senior Lorena Guevara and junior Pragyanjyoti Dash, making continuous attempts to score.
- Unfortunately, they could not keep their composure, and their negative outlook led to their demise.
- The Highlanders kept up their effort the entirety of the game, scoring 24 points and taking the game over the Wolves.
What’s Next | After losing their season opener, the Wolves come back to Van Nuys to play the Cleveland Cavaliers on Wednesday, Dec. 6 and the Kennedy Cougars on Monday, Dec. 11.
Team Thoughts | “We were all very nervous,” varsity player Leena Gonzalez said. “Before the game, we had a mindset where we knew we were going to lose, and I think that threw us off, because most of us had continued passing to girls who were not open and left the ones who were out. We were all scattered all over the place, not everyone had a good performance and many people had a hard time passing to others.”
Our thoughts | Although the Wolves lost their first game, it does not necessarily reflect what is in store for the rest of their season. The girls can move past their unfortunate start to their season and prove that this first game was nothing but a fluke.
