The Boys Volleyball Team visited Sylmar High School on Wednesday Mar. 7.
Right off the bat, Van Nuys had an early deficit due to their passing and communication errors. The Wolves rallied back as their hitting and blocking became more effective but would lose 26-24. In the second set, both teams would exchange leads as they both pushed each other to their limit. Key serves from Josh Clavio would allow Van Nuys to squeak in a second set victory.
Throughout the third and fourth set, the Wolves had a sluggish performance passing the ball which allowed the Spartans to have a commanding lead. Ultimately, Sylmar would prevail and hand Van Nuys its first league lost of the season.
Final Score: 24-26, 29-27, 17-25, 15-25.
Next Game: 4pm Friday Mar. 9 @ Fulton
“We definitely need to communicate better on the court, we had a lot of opportunities to seize the game but didn’t take them but we’ll have another chance when we play them home.” – Captain Daron Excel
