BOYS VOLLEYBALL: An offensive explosion lifts Van Nuys to victory

The Boys Volleyball Team hosted the Canoga Park Hunters for their first league match of the season on Monday, Mar. 5.
“Despite our errors throughout the match, we still cleaned up and pulled through with a win,” said Captain Jacob Lee. “I look forward to the rest of the season.”
Throughout the match, the Van Nuys Wolves maintained a steady lead over their opponent. The Canoga Park Hunters tried to rally back but they were overwhelmed by the heavy hitting of Captain Daron Excel. Despite passing and hitting errors in the second set, Van Nuys was able to pull off a second set victory. In the final set, the Wolves corrected their errors and earned their first victory of the league.
FINAL SCORE: 25-11, 25-17, 25-15.
NEXT GAME: Van Nuys @ Sylmar on Wednesday, Mar. 7 at 4pm.

Lauren Woolsey is currently a Staff Sports Writer for The Mirror. She joined during her freshman year and is currently in her third year as a junior.
Lauren enjoys trying and enjoying new foods, staying active, and playing volleyball. She also enjoys watching other sports such as figure skating or swimming. She is currently on the Girls Varsity Volleyball team and is a volunteer of three years at Valley Presbyterian Hospital. When Lauren isn’t doing anything school related, she enjoys relaxing while rewatching her favorite TV shows.
