The Girls Soccer Team hosted Huntington Park in a quarterfinals match up on Thursday Feb.22.
Throughout the game both teams went back and forth at one another. The Wolves would miss multiple opportunities on offense, however their defense would suffocate the Spartans rhythm. Both teams would remain scoreless as regular time concluded. Heading into extra time both teams were still at a standstill and were forced to enter a penalty shootout. In the shootout, the Wolves was represented by Ruby Dunmore, Danatya Montiel, Cristina Peruch, Sherry Ramos, Wendi Quinonez, and Alexia Montejo. The score was 2-2 in penalties until the opponent missed their opportunity, and Montejo scored the game winning goal.
“I am proud of our team and we are looking forward to our next game,” said Montiel
NEXT GAME: Van Nuys vs Narbonne on Tuesday, Feb.27.
