School Lockdown and Phone Call Swarms
Mandatory Lockdown Caused by Nearby Armed Suspect
All fourth period classes were interrupted by a mandatory lockdown on Monday, Oct. 3. The cause has been attributed to a suspect who was openly carrying a revolver close to school grounds and was fleeing from the Los Angeles Police Department; many heard the loud helicopters above the school and the police cars in the nearby area partaking in the search. The suspect was later caught and has not been identified not part of this school, but thankfully nobody was injured. The school also asks that in similar future events, that students not text their parents, as a swarm of phone calls came in during the recent one, clogging up phone lines and adding unnecessary worry for parents. If in the case of a serious lockdown where students are in immediate danger of harm, the school will immediately contact all parents and keep them up to date on the situation.
