Know Your Rights

In addition to the ongoing Muslim ban, Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has been conducting raids throughout Southern California, especially in Van Nuys, Downey, Norwalk, Oxnard, San Bernardino and Santa Paula.

ICE has been targeting individuals with prior removal orders and deportation orders. Already more than 160 people have been arrested.

“It is now clear the Trump administration is not concerned with public safety, they are only focused on ripping hard-working men, women, and children from their families and communities,” said California Senate President Pro Tempore Kevin De Leon.

“Mass deportations will not make us safer, instead they will simply undermine our state’s economy” he added.

LA residents took to Twitter On Friday, Feb. 10 to report several ICE checkpoints in the Van Nuys and Pacoima neighborhoods. While these reports have not been confirmed, immigrant residents are obviously concerned.
