Operating on a special pep rally schedule for that day only, Van Nuys High School shortened each class by 20 minutes to make time for its first pep rally of the year on Friday, Sept. 12, 2025.
Taking place at the football field, the rally saw freshmen, sophomores, juniors, seniors and even teachers compete in a series of spirited games and activities to boost school pride. Students, grouped together by grade level, filled the bleachers and cheered so loudly that the stands rumbled and shook.
The pep rally opened with a fierce balloon-throwing contest, followed by a messy pie-eating contest. Finally, the games concluded with a relay race around the track. The students in the bleachers cheered for their class representatives the entire time, creating an electric atmosphere.
Associated Student Body (ASB) organized the event, which featured performances from Dance Company and the cheer team, as well as other student groups who attended the pep rally. These showcases entertained the crowd throughout the hour.
As the pep rally came to an end, the school band played music as the students exited the field and headed out to enjoy their lunch.
