On March 19, 2025, students at Van Nuys High School gathered early in the morning to take the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) exam, key for college-bound students. The school organized the test in a way that ensured a smooth and quiet environment for everyone. With college applications on the horizon, the SAT is an important step for many students looking to take their education to the next level.
To make the testing process more manageable, students were divided into two groups and placed in separate rooms: the big gym and the small gym. This division helped reduce crowding and allowed proctors to better oversee the students as they worked through the exam. The spacious gymnasiums gave students room to spread out and focus, while keeping the atmosphere calm and controlled.
The SAT, which consists of sections on English and math, lasted around 4 hours. Proctors and teachers were present to assist with any issues and ensure that all students followed the necessary testing rules, making sure the day went smoothly.
Many students have spent months preparing, attending study sessions and practicing test-taking strategies. For some, the test is a chance to improve upon previous scores, while for others, it may be their first time taking the exam.
With the SAT behind them, students are now one step closer to achieving their college goals. The hard work and dedication they put into preparing for the test will hopefully pay off as they await their results in the coming weeks.
