After the devastation caused by the recent California wildfires, the It's Bigger Than Us organization has been working to provide aid to communities through donation collection and service.
It’s Bigger Than Us

Fueled by compassion and collaboration, the It’s Bigger Than US program aims to support individuals affected by the numerous fires that spread across southern California recently. You can apply to volunteer or donate to the program through their website, where you’ll be supporting their attempt to provide safety, esteem, belongingness, physiology, items and food to those affected by the fires.

Celebrate the year of the snake by visiting Downtown Monterey Park's Lunar New Year event, featuring many performances and vendors.
Lunar New Year Festival

Starting Saturday, Jan. 18 at 10 a.m., Downtown Monterey Park will be hosting a Lunar New Year Festival that ends at 9 p.m. and picks up again the following day. Offered activities include live entertainment, a carnival, dragon dancers and numerous food booths. Admission is free along with parking and shuttle bus service.

Dive into the closet of the famous musician, Bob Dylan, by viewing outfits recreated for "A Complete Unknown"at the ASU FIDM Museum.
‘A Complete Unknown’ Costume Exhibition

Following the release of the Bob Dylan biopic, A Complete Unknown, costume designer Arianne Phillip’s recreations of iconic outfits from Dylan’s lifetime are currently on display at ASU FIDM Museum at 919 S Grand Ave, Los Angeles, CA 90015. Worn by Timothée Chalamet, this look into 1960’s fashion from Dylan’s perspective offers a refreshing peek into his distinctive style.

Alyson Cerna is the Sports Editor for The Mirror, the award-winning student newspaper and website at Van Nuys High School in Los Angeles. In her third year in journalism, she’s enjoyed writing about topics ranging from powdered wigs to Bronny James and everything in between. As an avid boba consumer, she believes her addiction has largely contributed to her local boba shop’s annual earnings. Her frequent indulgence in music and content from the band My Chemical Romance has solidified them as her favorite band, with her closet full of their merchandise. Above all, she enjoys surrounding herself with anything silly and whimsical, whether it’s watching “My Little Pony” or spiraling through an array of literature. She plans to pursue a degree in philosophy with hopes of later becoming a lawyer.
