Highlights |
- The first touchdown was scored by Marlon Figueroa (#11) adding 6 points to the scoreboard, followed by a PAT (point after touchdown) by Leelen Castro (#10), giving the Wolves another point.
- There were two injuries of the night, one being a Hollywood Sheik and the other being a Nicholas Phuong (#17).
- The final touchdown for VNHS was scored by Nathen Oliveira (#9).
What’s next | The team’s next game is on Friday Sept. 8 at home against the Del Oro Suns, followed by another home game against Panorama High School the following week.
Team thoughts | “We could have done better, and we have to work on coming together as a team,” said Abraham Ceja, varsity middle linebacker. “Results like these help us see how important practice is because if everyone is giving it their all, then we won’t have these results.”
“This game was disappointing, we just need to continue practicing harder everyday,” said quarterback Nathen Oliveira. “We had a lot of off days as well as a tough schedule in the beginning, but we are hopefully going to hold it down in this next game against Del Oro.”
Our thoughts | Even though the team experienced a lopsided loss, they improved offensively, scoring two touchdowns — one more than their game against Verdugo Hills the previous week. Although they didn’t play the brightest game, we feel confident that the team will have a better performance in their next game against Del Oro a weaker team than either Hollywood or Verdugo Hills.
