Q) How long have you been working at Van Nuys?
“Since 2010, so like, 11 years.”
Q) Why have you chosen to retire as the special education coordinator?
“A new opportunity came to me. I decided to buy a house by the ocean in Baja, California; the cost of living is low. Due to all the craziness in the world, it gives you time to think about what you want to do in your life when things get interesting.”
Q) What was your favorite part of working as the special education coordinator here?
“I love this school, I love the people and I love helping the families and the students.”
Q) What is the most valuable thing you’ve learned from your time working here?
“Getting along with different personalities and being a team player and just collaborating with other colleagues and learning from others.”
Q) What do you plan to do in your time after retiring?
“I just want to enjoy the peace that surrounds me and just focus on good mental health as well as physical health. Just enjoying life.”
Q) Is there anything else you would like to add?
“I’ll miss Van Nuys High School, it’s like a second family. I’ll miss coming and seeing everybody in the hallways and saying good morning and have a good weekend. I will also miss helping the students graduate because that’s our goal.”
