Last Sunday, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers defeated the Green Bay Packers in the NFC (National Football Conference) championship game to advance to the Super Bowl. After the game, the AFC (American Football Conference) championship took place, which resulted in the Kansas City Chiefs defeating the Buffalo Bills in a victory score of 38-24.
The Super Bowl will be held on February 7 at the Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida.
This year the Super Bowl’s seats may not be jam-packed however, it will feature a battle between giants. Tom Brady of the Buccaneers, who is known as the greatest quarterback of all time, would be facing off against the Chiefs’ Patrick Mahomes II, who many consider to be the “future” of the NFL. The halftime show will also have The Weeknd performing.
This year’s Super Bowl could go down as one of the interesting games in the history of the NFL. With weeks away from the big event, both teams in the AFC and NFC divisions have goals to accomplish.
The Chiefs are looking forward to regaining their championship title after winning the Super Bowl in the last year. The Chiefs are also looking forward to beating the Buccaneers team that is led by Tom Brady, who has had 10 appearances in the championship title game. Within the franchise, the Chiefs have 2 championship titles from 1970 and 2020.
The Chiefs, in the last year, came back from a 10-point deficit to beat the San Francisco 49ers with a victory score of 31 to 20. This year, they padded their ranks with fresh players to help their star players — Patrick Mahomes II, Wide-Receiver Tyreek Hill, and Tight-End Travis Kelce.
The Buccaneers are looking forward to making history in the league. After the NFC division championship game, they will be the first team in the NFL to play in the Super Bowl at their home stadium. During last year’s offseason, they picked up Brady from his 20 season career with the Patriots.
Alongside Brady, the Buccaneers also picked up some of Brady’s former teammates that include Tight-End Rob Gronkowski, Wide-Receiver Antonio Brown to even further increase their chances of winning the Super Bowl.
With one championship in the franchise, the Buccaneers look to add another championship title in the books.
This isn’t the first time that the Chiefs and Buccaneers faced each other this season. The last time they played ended up with Mahomes and the Chiefs beating Brady and the Buccaneers in Week 12 of the season. The game was a close call with the Chiefs coming out victorious with a score of 27 to 24 against the Buccaneers.
This year’s Super Bowl will be an intense melding of rivalries and top-notch players duking it out for their rings.
