March 20, 2018

The Boys Volleyball Team visited San Fernando on Monday, Mar.19.

“Our hard work and training really pulled off,” said Captain Daron Excel. “It was a long and hard fight but we came out on top.”

The Wolves constantly exchanged leads in the first set which led to a tight battle. Due to several passing and serving errors, the set reached a tiebreaker until Van Nuys seized it. In the second set, constant receiving and hitting errors resulted in a victory for San Fernando. In the next two sets, both teams constantly traded the lead with one another until the match was decided with the pivotal fifth set. The Wolves started the final set with an explosion on their offense as their float serves led to four consecutive points. Ultimately, Van Nuys came up on top and earned their third victory of the season.

FINAL SCORE: 28-26, 24-26, 25-19, 21-25, 15-8.

NEXT GAME: Van Nuys vs Kennedy on Wednesday, Mar. 21 at 4 pm.
