There’s no better way to get into the holiday spirit than ice skating! L.A. Live has opened its ice skating rink for everyone, and it’s a fun, casual activity to enjoy with friends and family. Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced skater, gliding (or stumbling) across the ice is sure to lift your spirits. After working up an appetite, enjoy a meal at nearby restaurants like Lazy Dog, Sol Agave L.A. LIVE and Tom’s Watch Bar. The rink is open from 5 p.m. to 12:30 a.m., and Tickets start at $27 per person.

The Grove

The Grove has set up its holiday decorations, transforming it into a winter wonderland. The Grove offers a variety of activities, including shopping for clothes, dining, watching movies or simply strolling around. At night, the lights are on, and their brightly-lit, 100-foot-tall tree makes for the perfect photo spot. If you don’t feel like walking around, they have a holiday-themed trolley at no cost. To top it all off, enjoy some hot chocolate as you explore all the options the Grove offers.

Grad Night Tickets

Grad Night tickets for seniors are already up for sale! On Fri. May 29, 2026, the Class of 2026 is going to Universal Studios Hollywood. With exclusive access to the park past closing hours, shorter lines and a unique late-night vibe guarantee the making of unforgettable memories. Early bird tickets are being sold right now for $145, which you won’t want to miss! The ticket includes round-trip charter bus transportation to and from Universal Studios. Purchase before Jan. 3, because prices will only go up after that point. The event is made possible by the Magnet Parents Association.

Ashley Cruz, a freshman, is on the staff of The Mirror, the award-winning student newspaper and website at Van Nuys High School in Los Angeles. She likes to read comics for fun and listen to music to relax. Cruz is a huge music enthusiast whose favorite genre is jazz rap, and she collects vinyl records. Her favorite movie is “Percy Jackson: The Sea of Monsters.” Even though she is not political, she supports environmental causes like not throwing trash in the ocean to save sea animals. A place she would like to visit is Monaco because she wants to see the annual Formula One race, eat the delicious food and swim in the clear blue water. Cruz is a big Star Wars fan who collects Star Wars comics and figures and owns two Star Wars movies on Blu-ray.
