TRUTH MATTERS… Donate to support excellence in student journalism
A plethora of colors brought life to the quad for Multicultural Day at our school.
This event, with an extended lunch, presented the opportunity for multiple clubs to fundraise money through the representation of a country and the selling of their representative food. Clubs chose to sell food from various countries from Canada to Japan.
Due to the wide variety of countries, there were many options of food to choose from including In-N-Out burgers from ASB who represented Germany, Ramen from Freshman Board who represented Korea, Porto’s pastries from NSDA who represented Cuba Speech and many others.
Many students were enthusiastic about the In-N-Out that ASB was selling only to discover that there were many setbacks that occurred while getting the burgers.
Students quickly lined up at the beginning of lunch, only for ASB to announce that the burgers weren’t ready yet. Those who preordered the burgers or received a numbered ticket were required to wait until the end of lunch to receive their food.
Despite this setback, the event continued and students had the chance to buy food from other clubs.
Each club was also required to have a performance to show off their chosen country’s culture. Many clubs read poems, did dances and one even performed a song.
Overall, the event allowed for students to explore many cultures, their foods and community building.
