Girls soccer end the season with a loss against San Fernando Tigers

The girl’s soccer team played against San Fernando High School on Wednesday, Feb. 1, and lost 1-0.

Highlights |

  • Veronica Avalos, #17, fought hard in the midfield constantly playing against challenging players.
  • Team Captain Lily Rang, #6, defended in tough one-on-one’s to keep the Tiger’s goals to a minimum.
  • Team Captain Sophia Herrera, #5, shut down the Tiger’s attempts on the wings, stopping multiple attempts on goal.
  • By the end of the first half, the Wolves kept the score at 0-0.
  • In the beginning of the second half, a goal was scored against the Wolves by a header on a corner kick.

What’s next | The next playoff game will be on Tuesday, Feb. 14 against Canoga Park at an away game.

Team thoughts | “It was a hard game, the other team just fought harder, so they got a good goal. I know we can do better than this for our playoff games.’” said Team Captain Lily Rang, #6.

Our thoughts |  Although our lady Wolves were unable to win most of their games, the whole team worked hard to create plays together. They always tried their hardest, even against better teams with quicker players. It’s clear that they never gave up, and we should be proud of our girls soccer team.

For the books

  • 5 wins, 7 losses
  • Valley Mission League
