ASB seeks donations for a local food pantry

The canned food drive will take place from Nov. 29 to Dec.9, with all proceeds sent to the Jewish family service of LA (SOVA).

The holiday spirit of giving continues on campus.

ASB has asked students to donate once again during the canned food drive taking place from Nov. 29 to Dec. 9. All donations will be sent to the SOVA food pantries, run by the Jewish family service of LA.

The members of SOVA state that their two pantries meet the needs of nearly 7,000 visitors every month. Their most critical needs are peanut butter, rice, canned tuna and meats, canned soup and whole grain cereal.

To encourage students, the ASB has set up a friendly competition between all of the classes during period two. Students should bring their donations to their second period teachers, and the class with the most cans will be rewarded with a “chicken bake” party.
