At DipnMix, you can enjoy some sweet and healthy treats to satisfy your sweet tooth. DipnMix is a cozy cafe where you can indulge in acai bowls, crepes and milkshakes. The employees are friendly and will recognize you easily if you come often. It is close to UCLA, so you will see many UCLA students around, since they often go there for a late snack or just to fill their cravings. The price range is affordable to boot, at around $10-20.

This weekend in Los Angeles, you can find holiday light displays starting at the LA Zoo welcoming guests with lantern sculptures and lights. LA Zoo Lights is an affordable and fun event you can attend with friends or family. The event runs from Nov. 13, 2025 to Jan. 11, 2026. ticket purchases support the zoo’s mission to save wildlife, enrich communities and create connections to nature. Parking is free, and tickets are now on sale at www.lazoolights.org, starting at $19.

Samandy Perez, a senior, is on the staff of The Mirror, the award-winning student newspaper and website at Van Nuys High School in Los Angeles. Perez loves her three cats and one dog. The names of her three cats are Michi, Michi and Michi, and the name of her dog is Canela. She loves animals and any athletic sport. She is currently on the wrestling team and plans to join other sports such as soccer, water polo and badminton. Perez also likes to learn new cooking recipes and try new dishes every day. She likes to make new friends and go out anywhere, even when there’s no money to spend. Traveling is one of Perez’s dreams. She plans to travel to Japan, Israel and Paris. She wants to learn the languages and try the food from those countries. She also wants to visit their beaches or rivers with friends, have fun trying out lots of new things that they don’t have in Los Angeles, explore the cities at night or during the day, take photos and make many memories in different places. Perez also likes to drive and listen to music loudly, such as Latin music or any kind of music as long as it is not country. She is graduating in 2026 and plans to attend Pierce College for two years to become a video editor, flight instructor or fashion designer, then continue another three to four years at Cal State Northridge.
