After weeks of advertising and promoting the Spring Fling dance, it was suddenly cancelled through an Instagram post this Monday, March 10.

The post simply stated that the Spring Fling Dance was cancelled and the Spring Fling pep rally was rescheduled.

The dance, which was scheduled to take place this Saturday, March 15, was cancelled due to circumstances surrounding a lack of ticket sales and the potential chance of rain.

The pep rally, which was supposed to take place during students’ 4th period this Friday March 14, was also postponed because the chance of rain would have impacted the school’s ability to host the event on the football field.

Pep Rally Commissioner, Sidney Turner says that it was a collective decision to cancel the dance and postpone the pep rally.

While the Spring Fling Dance is officially cancelled, administration and the Associated Student Body (ASB) have set a new date for the school’s Spring Fling pep rally event.

“The Pep Rally was postponed due to rainy weather conditions, so we would be unable to do it outside on the field as planned,” she said. “It will now take place next Friday, March 21st.”
