Bottomline: The Wolves went head-on against the Valley Academy of Arts & Sciences High School Vipers on Monday, Feb. 24, losing 1-3.

Highlights |

  • Senior and offensive hitter, Xavier Lauraya as well as junior and opposite hitter, Aidyn Kinchen led the team with points with their fast and correlated hits
  • Senior and outside hitter Yeerdlee Miranda scored a point by blocking the ball, setting it off the vipers blockers hand’s
  • Kinchen passed perfectly to senior setter Christian Callos, who was able to set Kinchen, a back-one, making a swift move
  • A total of eight service aces were passed throughout the game, two being from Kinchen, two from Callos and three from senior middle blockers and serve specialist David Lara

What’s next | The Wolves volleyball team’s next game is a away game against Canoga Park on Monday, March 3.

Team Thoughts | “I’m not too upset about this being the first loss,” Kinchen said. “The VAAS boys are a really strong team, they went to Division II championships last year and almost won as well. We definitely need to communicate more on serve receive. VAAS had a large ace streak on us which gave them the second set.”

Our Thoughts | This match against the Vipers was definitely a hard game for the Wolves, as they won their first game, and now have lost their next one. The Wolves learned and most importantly are going to fight harder for the next game.
