The Bottom Line | On Wednesday, April 17, boys volleyball held its Senior Night in the Big Gym, with many students and parents coming out to support the team. This game was against Canoga Park High School, which is currently behind the team in fifth place in the Valley Mission League. The Wolves dominated with a winning score of 3-1.

Highlights |  

• At the beginning of the game, the scores were constantly going back and forth, with the Hunters ultimately pulling through in the first set, 26-24.
• In the second set, the Wolves fought back with a tough offense, coming out on top with 25-21.
• The Wolves continued to show their strength in the third set, with their defense playing a major role in their 25-18 win.
• The fourth set was a nail-biter. The scores were trading between the Wolves and the Hunters, with the Wolves prevailing in the end 30-28.
• Seniors Noah Baek, (#14) Devin Brown (#3) Jacob Heard (#29) and opposite hitter Aidyn Kinchen were a tremendous help on offense, as their powerful spikes gave the Wolves most of the points.
• Brown made a staggering hit from the back row, surprising the Hunters and earning the Wolves a point.  
• Junior Christian Callos (#34) hit the Hunters with unexpected dumps, earning the team a couple of points.  
• Libero Joshua Murphy (#7) and Brown were able to receive and dig the ball multiple times, from which the setters Jeremiah Cho, (#9) Jonathan Kim (#11) and Christian Callos (#34) were able to make beautiful sets for their teammates.
• Seniors Nasim Abdul-Malik (#1) and Lucca Riley (#12) immensely helped the team on defense, having many blocks against the Hunter’s powerful hitters.

What’s Next | After a successful season with a positive league record of 7-5, the Wolves were able to clinch into the playoffs. However, they have yet to receive the exact date for the official playoff game.

Team Thoughts | “I think the way we played during Senior Night was an amazing way to end the season,” captain Devin Brown said. “All of us got in the game and gave it our all, as well as some of the juniors and sophomores were also able to get playing time. We performed phenomenally as a team and I’m proud to call that my last in-season game.”

Our Thoughts |  The boys volleyball team had an amazing game today despite there being some faults in the game. It was great seeing all the seniors getting the chance to play, but not only that, they also played phenomenally. This game proved how worthy the team can be of getting far into the playoffs as long as they keep up the hard work. It also highlights the improvements they’ve made throughout the whole season, considering they started off on the wrong foot. They really proved that they belong in the Division I league.
