Hike at Griffith Park

Students can hike the popular Griffith Park trails and visit the Griffith Observatory for stunning views of the city. The observatory is free to enter and there are public telescopes for stargazing. This activity is located at 2800 E Observatory Rd, Los Angeles, CA 90027.

The Santa Monica Beach and Pier has great attractions for everyone, whether you prefer games, food or studying the coastal wildlife.
Santa Monica Pier and Beach (Free to Visit; Paid Attractions)

At the Santa Monica beach you can relax on the sand, take a ride on the Ferris wheel, or stroll along the pier. The beach and the pier are free to visit, but some attractions like the amusement park rides or aquarium may include entrance fees. Many local shelters and volunteer organizations, such as those in Santa Barbara, Ventura, or other fire-prone areas, are in urgent need of volunteers this weekend to help with shelter management, food distribution and emotional support for evacuees. You can reach out directly to local organizations to help. Options include the Ventura County Disaster Response, which often has immediate needs for volunteers and the Santa Barbara Red Cross, which is also in urgent need for volunteers assisting evacuees and supporting shelters.
