Our Goal
LAUSD's budget leaves the award-winning journalism program at Van Nuys High School with a $0 budget in the upcoming school year. Without YOUR support, The Mirror cannot cover its expenses, hurting students directly and putting something that took years to build at genuine risk of falling behind.
Please consider making a donation to cover other VNHS journalism program expenses this school year

about the contributors
Adrianna Bean, Staff
Swiftie and first year Journalism writer Adrianna Bean can be found screaming the lyrics to whatever album she’s obsessed with right now (it’s always different). From animation and art, performing in plays and musicals, writing about topics she cares about, to re-reading her favorite books, Adrianna loves a good story, fiction and nonfiction. Story of Us? Love Story? Long Story Short? “The story starts when it was hot and it was summer and…?” She loves them all!

From gazing at beach sunsets while laying in the sand to splattering paint on a canvas, my desire to design gets expressed in Journalism. Pursuing design is my main objective in journalism in hopes to achieve graphics that’ll tell stories. I believe design, whether it’s clothing, graphic or art design, is a form of expressing your creativity. The art that music creates is like a language that I admire and express myself through. I love swaying my paint brush onto a canvas while frank ocean lyrics play all around. When I’m not driving around chasing memories with friends you can find me in nature with my doggy daughter Nikes.
Mia Rodriguez, Staff
There’s many things I enjoy doing, such as music, playing my instrument. When the marching band won the LAUSD championship, my love of music grew more as if it was a sapling who turned into a beautiful flower. Writing and playing music calm me, like if I’m at a cafe drinking a warm coffee or tea. I feel proud of belonging to the VNHS community. After I graduate from high school, I want people from later generations to keep reading my articles.
