As students walked around browsing the club’s tables and making their purchases, love songs blasted through speakers on the victory stand.

Sophomore Krystelle Arcinas is a member of the Sophomore Board and helped to make the tote bags they sold. She described Hearts Day as a very rewarding experience.

“Hearts Day was super fun, and I was especially glad to see people want some of the things I helped make,” said Arcinas.

ASB member and senior Samara Augustine explained that Hearts Day is a great way for students to come together and have a good time.

“Hearts Day Festival allows our student body to share the love and support our clubs every Valentine’s Day,” said Augustine.

I never thought that one day I would sit and write news stories all the time. When I was little the only thing I liked to write about was fairytales and popstars. Now that I am older the focus of my stories have shifted. As a staff writer for The Mirror, I write stories that focus on real people and what they have to say.  I have written multiple stories for the paper and I continue to search for new stories wherever I go. Outside of journalism, I am the captain for Van Nuys’ cross Country team and am constantly looking for new ways to make people smile.
