In the month of April, Stephen Curry makes his dominant run in the NBA season. Curry, a 2-time champion with the Warriors, is proving himself to be the best player in the league.
After breaking his left hand in the 2019-20 season, Curry should no-doubt be in talks for the MVP award this year. This injury had kept him out for the majority of the 2019-20 season to recover.
This season, Curry made a full-recovery to help boost the Warrior’s chances of making the playoffs.
Curry is currently on a hot-streak as he’s bringing up legendary performances for the Warriors. This month, he is averaging 39.0 PPG, 4.9 APG, and 5.8 RPG in the last 10 games.
Recently, Curry broke the late legend Kobe Bryant’s record by scoring 30 points or more in 11 consecutive games against the Sixers.
Last week, he broke Wilt Chamberlain’s record as the Warrior’s all-time scoring leader.
On a recent episode on the Rex Chapman Show, Curry made a special appearance with hosts Rex Chapman and Josh Hopkins. He was asked about whether he should be the MVP this year.
“I mean, I gotta be… I gotta be.” Curry says. “I probably won’t get it, but it’s whatever.”
The Warriors are most likely to be put into the Play-In Tournament as they are the 9th seed in the Western Conference. With Curry’s spectacular performance, the Warriors can potentially secure a spot in the Playoffs.
In this season, there are many players who are worthy of the MVP award. Some notable players that can take home the MVP award include Curry, Joel Embiid (Sixers), Nikola Jokic (Nuggets), and Giannis Antetokounmpo.
With the 2020-21 NBA Season coming to an end soon, Curry is definitely deserving of being awarded as MVP. Curry, this season, is having his best season as he is averaging 31.1 PPG, 5.9 APG, and 5.5 RPG. The Warriors superstar already has 2 MVPs in his resume, but it is possible that a 3rd MVP award could be added to the list.
