  • Taylor Swift won two awards, including “Video of the year” and ”Best pop of the year”. She became the most awarded artist in VMAS history, with a total of 30 VMA’s.
  • Sabrina Carpenter won “Song of the year” for her hit “Espresso.”
  • Chappell Roan won her first award for “Best new artist of the year”
  • Eminem was awarded “Best hip hop” for his song “Houdini.”
  • “Best R&B” was awarded to “Snooze” by SZA

  • Taylor Swift  wore a tartan corset, open-front cape skirt and black hot pants from the Dior Resort 2025 runway set. 
  • Sabrina Carpenter dressed in a vintage gown from Tab Vintage.
  • Halsey was seen wearing a Versace 1996 red leopard gown.
  • Tyla chose a fringed dress from Area’s Fall 2024 collection with Barbie pink heels.

Blackpink’s Lisa wore a custom naked-looking corset with a sweeping skirt connected to her hood.

  • Sabrina Carpenter dominated the stage with her “Please,Please,Please” and “Espresso” mashup.
  • Katy Perry rocked a classics collage, performing “Firework,” “California girls” and “I Kissed a Girl”.
  •  Megan Thee Stallion and special guest Yuki Chiba rocked the stage with their performance of “Mamushi.”

  •  On the red carpet before the show, a photographer told Chappell Roan to “shut the f**k up,” and she responded saying, “You shut the f*** up.” She later said the VMA red carpet was a “horrifying experience.” 
  • All eyes were on Shawn Mendez during Sabrina Carpenter’s performance. Carpenter performed songs that were inspired by her brief romance with Mendez. 
  • Taylor Swift, instead of taking her time to announce another big and upcoming album, urged everyone to vote, endorsing Kamala Harris.
