An evening with Shakespeare

Uniting all Shakespeare lovers is a series of productions that bring to life and reenact some of his biggest projects. Held at the historic Old Zoo in Griffith Park, the Independent Shakespeare Co. hosts these performances weekly on grass. Reservations are required to enter, so make sure to gather up your friends and ensure your spot ahead of time!

EATS AND CRAFTS: A juicy, beefy offering from Wangyu Bone Marrow Brothers restaurant (L) is one of a myriad of delicacies offered at the 626 Night Market in Arcadia. Vendors also offer merchandise and crafts, like the anime character pin from Pin Plugged.
Night Market delights: Discovering Asian food and businesses

Hosted in Santa Anita Park’s front Paddock Gardens, the 626 Night Market floods with over 250 Asian street food vendors, live music, and games. With attractions appealing to all ages, this night market aims to unify and promote local talent, including chefs and performers. You can enjoy an array of artists and culture-infused treats with friends and family from Friday, Aug. 18 to Sunday, Sep. 1. Doors open at 4 PM and close at 11 PM, so make sure to set aside a few solid hours to indulge in tastiness that 626 Night Market has to offer! Tickets are available at the door and online.

Alyson Cerna is the Sports Editor for The Mirror, the award-winning student newspaper and website at Van Nuys High School in Los Angeles. In her third year in journalism, she’s enjoyed writing about topics ranging from powdered wigs to Bronny James and everything in between. As an avid boba consumer, she believes her addiction has largely contributed to her local boba shop’s annual earnings. Her frequent indulgence in music and content from the band My Chemical Romance has solidified them as her favorite band, with her closet full of their merchandise. Above all, she enjoys surrounding herself with anything silly and whimsical, whether it’s watching “My Little Pony” or spiraling through an array of literature. She plans to pursue a degree in philosophy with hopes of later becoming a lawyer.
