VNHS Magnet Program Shows Off
Under the threat of stormy weather, the first annual VNHS Magnet Open House promoted the school’s opportunities for incoming students and parents on Thursday, Oct. 27.
Potential new Magnet students and their families got a taste of Van Nuys High School with its wide variety of extracurriculars and courses from 6-8 pm. Clubs, classes, and programs set up booths to attract attention to their special features.
Mobile robots and contraptions, dance performances, and choir show were some of the activities showcased during the event.
Drill Team started off the Open House, dancing along to the beat of Marching Band. The Cheerleading Squad was next, dancing and cheering for the Van Nuys Wolves.
Throughout the night, the parents were serenaded by the Vannaires, treated to the Dance Department’s powerful routines, and soothed by the instrumental performance.
ASB also set up tables to fundraise for the Van Nuys Magnet Program. They sold soda, pizza, popcorn and other snacks.
Many parents and incoming students were attracted to our wide varieties of opportunities and clubs. Programs and courses were able to successfully leave an impact on on the hopefully prospective students for the 2017-18 school year.
