Boys Varsity tennis goes up against their first opponents of the season, El Camino Real.

The bottom line | On Friday, April 26, boys tennis played the second round of playoffs after qualifying to skip the first round. They played against Los Angeles CES and lost with a score of 10.5-19.

Highlights

  • Junior Chidubem Akpati hit many impressive drop shots.
  • The team spirit was thriving – even when they were down, the players still believed in and supported each other.
  • Their singles were very entertaining and eventful because they easily won all their matches.
  • The coaches gave them important and useful tactics whenever they needed advice or to be uplifted.

What’s Next | Unfortunately, their season has concluded.

Team thoughts | “I think as a team we generally played poorly or at least beneath our normal level of play, which was a little disappointing,” junior Chidubem Akpati expressed. “I definitely think I could’ve played better. I think I could’ve started faster and began with more confidence.”

Our thoughts | Now that their season has ended, boys tennis has the time to train harder and prepare for the next playoffs. Even though they lost to Los Angeles CES, the players still managed to play an amazing season with only three losses. All players fought hard and put in their utmost effort. Preparing for the next playoffs should be easy for them.
