Given a second chance by the California Interscholastic Federation, the team will be playing against Valor Academy at a home game.

The girls flag football team made it to playoffs in their first year.

Although the team had a record of four wins and ten losses, the California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) took into consideration that the team had played all of their games in the scorching hot sun and took non-league games seriously. With that in mind, the CIF granted the Wolves a chance.

The team will play against Valor Academy, which has a superior record of 11 wins and four losses, stats that could cause a problem for the Lady Wolves in the playoffs. These teams will begin their playoff run in a home game on Thursday, Nov. 2 at 3:00 p.m.

“I feel happy about making it to the playoffs. I think a lot of girls put in all their effort,” varsity quarterback Isabella Perez said. “I’m incredibly thrilled about making it to the playoffs since we are the first flag football team at this school and I think it’s such a special moment in our school’s history.”

Isabel Valles, Athletics Editor
Through participating in multiple sports writing competitions, I was able to prove my commitment to the class and was chosen to become sports editor in my second year of journalism. My love for sports writing came around the time my love for sports developed around 6 years ago. Another thing I love about writing about sports is being able to inform and catch up readers about games that they may have missed. Currently I play three sports, flag football, track and field, and basketball. After high school I plan on attending either the University of Pennsylvania or the University of Santa Cruz. My goal for this year as editor is to become a better leader and learn from any mistakes that I might make in the process.
