Three thrilling things to do this Halloween weekend

Here are three tricks (or treats) you can do this weekend that will get you into a spooky mood.

“Five Nights at Freddy’s” Movie

Playing in theaters this Friday, Oct. 27, the “Five Nights at Freddy’s” movie is a 110 minute, PG-13 horror movie adaption of the same-named horror game series. Simply put, the object of both the movie and game are to survive five nights at Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza, which is infested with creepy sentient animatronics. The cast is star-studded, featuring “Hunger Games” actor Josh Hutcherson and “Scooby-Doo” star Matthew Lillard. The movie will be showing all day everyday at theaters across the valley. Tickets can be purchased through the Regal Theater online, Cinemark Theaters online or in person for roughly fifteen dollars per person. Viewers can also stream the movie on Peacock with a subscription.

Fright Fest

Six Flags’s Fright Fest has all the scariest things imaginable, from the horror movies represented, such as “Saw X” and “The Conjuring,” to new haunted houses that are sure to bring out terrifying screams. Including Six Flags epic rides, where guests ride along with monsters, guests are in for a terrifying night. Tickets for the event can be bought online from $40 to $80 per person thirteen and older. Oct. 27 – Oct. 30 Six Flags Magic Mountain, Valencia, CA

Dia de los Muertos / Day of the Dead at Pacoima City Hall

A historic celebration for the dead members in our lives or for the living people around us, Dia de los Muertos / Day of the Dead at Pacoima City Hall offers food, art, live music, community altars and more. Admission is free, and all can join with their families to pay respects for the people they lost. People can offer flowers, drinks, photos, candles and food to the deceased as they return to the land of the living for a day. Los Angeles Councilwoman Monica Rodriguez presents the event to the community from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 29 Pacoima City Hall, 13520 Van Nuys Blvd

I have lost many video games, but when I win them, it feels like an accomplishment. As a newcomer journalist, I want to explore different views, opinions, and entertainment through my writing. Exploring new worlds and adventures through gaming helps me escape the real world. I hope that my writing will be an escape for people from their everyday lives. Everyday life can be boring without some fun and that is what I aim to provide.
