Van Nuys High School badminton club draws crowds every Tuesday

A pile of badminton rackets and birdies.

Badminton club has become a popular space for students to spend their time. This club has “meetings” every Tuesday , with courts filling up very quickly, highlighting the impact of this club on many students. Unfortunately, Badminton is not an official sport at Van Nuys High School. Promoting this club will make a huge impact by letting people know how many students love playing, possibly leading to more recognition and it becoming a sport here in the future.

Florencia Sanchez, a sophomore, is on the staff of The Mirror, the award-winning student newspaper and website at Van Nuys High School in Los Angeles. Outside of school, she likes going out with her friends. She enjoys photography a lot and playing the piano. She also loves the show “Gilmore Girls,” which she could rewatch all the time if she wanted to. After graduating high school, Sanchez is hoping to get into UCLA and still has many options on what she wants to major in.
