The bottom line | The Van Nuys girls’ softball team was defeated on Wednesday’s home game against Ventura High School with a score of 0-21.

Highlights |

  • Junior pitcher Ariel Puente (#11) delivered outstanding pitches throughout the game
  • Senior catcher Alisa Lara (#12) excelled receiving pitches, keeping the game in control behind the home plate
  • Sophomore shortstop Nadia Ubaldo (#5) caught multiple hits, securing the out against the opposing team
  • Freshman second basemen Isabella Espinoza (#6) quickly threw the ball to multiple bases, successfully getting out the opposing player

What’s next | Our Lady Wolves will be playing at home against Reseda’s Regents on Friday, April 4th at 3:00 pm.

Team thoughts | “It was an okay game but I think we could’ve done better,” Puente said. “I’m proud of us Lady Wolves, we did what we could and we learned from Ventura and all the other schools we’ve gone against.”

Our thoughts | Though our girls softball team took a loss, every game is a chance to learn. These Lady Wolves will take what they learned and use it to their advantage to improve for the next game.
