Fernando Trujillo, Staff Writer
Fernando Trujillo, a senior, is on the staff of The Mirror, the award-winning student newspaper and website at Van Nuys High School in Los Angeles. He started writing for The Mirror this semester and enjoys interviewing people and listening to their opinions about a variety of topics. Trujillo loves to listen to old-school hip-hop such as MF DOOM, Wu-Tang Clan, People Under the Stairs, J Dilla and Nujabes. Outside of school, he loves to work out in preparation for his future career as a firefighter, which he admires as heroes and is dedicating his life to become one. He loves his cat Domino like he’s his own child. He enjoys playing video games, and his top five are “Hotline Miami,” “Elden Ring,” “Ready or Not,” “Helldivers 2” and “Red Dead Redemption 2.” He is very neutral when it comes to politics since he doesn’t want to be involved. He does have a thing for boxing as he likes to practice it by himself at the gym since it calms him down even through the toughest days. Trujillo has also done acting before as he was in the Van Nuys High School short film “The Wallet.” His role was a police officer trying to arrest the protagonist. But right now, his main focus is to become a firefighter because he wants to contribute to society, have the reputation of a hero and help support his family financially.
