What is something most people don’t know about you?
Something that most people do not know about me is that I am 6’ 7” and I was born and raised in Mexico, Zacatecas. Another thing is that one of my favorite dishes is Sushi.

How do you balance your personal and work lives?
Balancing my personal and work lives takes a lot of time but I think my personal life bleeds into my work life too as I spent most of my time at work trying to teach my students the best way possible.

What’s a cause or issue that you’re passionate about?
I wouldn’t say it is an issue or a cause, but something I am passionate about is that I love working with my students and getting them to a higher education. Especially those who do not know much Spanish.

What’s the most memorable travel experience you’ve had?
The most memorable travel experience I think was in maybe 2022 or 2023 when I went on my first trip to Mexico with my friends. I went to Cancun, did many activities and overall it was a fun experience.

What’s an interesting job you’ve had outside of education?
The only job I had was a while back when I was in college. I was working in the Athletes department at CSUN. I learned a lot during that time and it was very enjoyable to me.

If you could have dinner with anyone living or dead other than family members, who would it be and why?
If I can have dinner with anyone living or dead, it would be Selena Quintanilla as she is my favorite singer of all time and her songs are very vivid. I would say that her songs would put you to dance.

If you had to eat one cuisine for the rest of your life, what would be your favorite dish from it?
The one I would love to eat most of the time would be chile de relleno and tacos as my favorite, I wouldn’t get tired from them even if I ate them everyday.

Natalie Vo, News and Features Online Editor
Natalie Vo, a sophomore, is on the staff of The Mirror, the award-winning student newspaper and website at Van Nuys High School in Los Angeles. This is her first year of journalism, and she has many hobbies, including dancing, writing and listening to music. Her most recent favorite artists are Kendrick Lamar, The Marías, J. Cole and Laufey. Her playlist is quite eclectic. Her interests include games. Back in the day, in her prime, she was quite remarkable at first-person shooter games. It was like a passion to her. She loved it mainly not to win but to have fun and continue getting better. Even though she plays a lot of games, she is still able to focus on school. Speaking of school, her dream college is UC San Diego or just any decent college she can be accepted to. She wants to major in nursing or psychology so that she can make a good amount of money to continue the other things she loves doing for fun. Vo has a shopping addiction, spending money left and right. As time passes, she wants to volunteer when she turns 16, which would be near the end of this year. Volunteering at an animal shelter has been one of her goals. She wants to make sure animals are being taken care of and are safe. She looks forward to being included to help out in the student newspaper, and she wants others to know that you can still do the things you love as long as you work hard and continue pushing.
