Starter JV outside hitter Yeerdlee Miranda (#10) spikes a ball against the Panorama Pythons at a home game on April 3.

The Bottom Line | On Wednesday, April 3, boys volleyball scourged the Panorama Pythons, ravaging them with a score of 3-1.

Highlights |

  • Captain Devin Brown (#3) started the game with an ace, giving the Wolves a strong lead they maintained for the whole set.
  • Christian Callos (#34) perfectly set some of the outside hitters, gaining the team many points. He even scored some points of his own, making unexpected dumps over the net.
  • The Wolves won the first set with a dominant score of 25-10.
  • Libero Dongil Shin (#21) received numerous power-driven serves, making flawless passes to his teammates as he did so.
  • Even though the Pythons proved to be serious competition later on, the Wolves still took the second set, winning 25-21.
  • Brown acted monstrously toward the pythons helping them secure more points
  • The Wolve’s defense started to fall apart during the third set, losing 25-23.
  • In the last set, the Wolves got their act together, coming out victorious in the fourth set with a triumphant score of 3-1.

What’s Next | Up next, the boys have a game against the Reseda Regents on April 15, whom they lost against on March 13 with a score of 25-27, 19-25, 25-23, and 20-25 in each of the four sets, respectively.

Team Thoughts | “I think we played pretty well, but the only thing that was wrong was that when something goes wrong we get in our heads and lose pretty easily, which happened in that third set that we were down,” senior Joshua Murphy said. “But we are still pretty happy with how the game ended since we won.”

Our ThoughtsIt was definitely refreshing to see the boys back on track after 2  consecutive losses. We look forward to seeing them showcase all the improvements they’ve made as a team in the next four games.
