The Wolves’ Homecoming game began with a bang as cheerleading alumni rode in on wailing fire trucks followed by a parade of school clubs, other athletic teams and of course this year’s Homecoming royalty. But the celebration was short-lived as the Tigers began their ambush, preventing the Wolves from scoring even a single point as they went on to dominate the action.

Highlights |

  • Aiden Fuhrman Chin (#31) made an amazing tackle against the Tigers when they were ahead by 7 points.
  • Brandon Arteaga (#8) received the ball and got tackled after on the fourth down as the Wolves were losing by 41 points.

What’s Next | On Oct. 6 the Wolves will face the Reseda Regents in an away game. Reseda hasn’t won a game so far this entire season with a 0-7 record. Canoga Park Hunters come next on Oct. 13 — also an away game — and also a team that doesn’t have a win so far this season.

Team thoughts | “It was kind of disappointing, I did expect us to put up more points,” said Running Back Hudson Mirsky.

Our thoughts | Although the team was crushed by the much stronger Tigers, they will face two teams in a row with worse records for the season. At least the Wolves have two wins to show coming into the games, leaving the distinct possibility that they could add two more. The boys in maroon should be wary when they go against Reseda however, which, when compared to Canoga, is the better team. In their game against the Tigers, Canoga lost 40-0.

For the books |

  • 2 wins, 4 losses
  • Valley Mission League
