Highlights

  • Junior Loc Handke completed the first match by winning two sets, both with a score of 6-1.
  • During the doubles match, Isis Lopez and Jessica Xilo both scored 6-0 in the first set.
  •  Alyssa Paniza and Docette Danialypour scored 6-2 in the last doubles match.
  • Jessica Xilo prevented the opponents from scoring by striking the ball with the racket (stroke).
  • Catherine Le won the singles match with a score of 6-1 for both sets.

What’s next | After destroying the Regents, the Wolves are determined to keep pushing forward. They’re focused now on bringing down the Sylmar Spartans at an away game on Wed., Sept. 27.

Player Thoughts | “The game was overall super fun,” said sophomore Isis Lopez. “My teammate and I had really good communication. But just because we won this game, doesn’t mean we might win the next, so we have to keep trying and continue pushing ourselves.”

Our thoughts | Although this is only the tennis team’s first win of the season, hopefully they will extend their streak. The team has shown determination, constantly pushing themselves to overcome challenges and setbacks.
