Named after the Greek goddess Maia, May is a month worth celebrating as the sun shines every single day and the flowers bloom without care.

With a ton of celebrations around the corner such as Cinco de Mayo, Memorial Day, and even Prom, put your records on and indulge in this month of transition from spring to summer.

Isabela Diaz is the Entertainment Editor for The Mirror. She is a senior in her second year of the program. Outside of journalism, she enjoys spending time with friends and baking. She is also the varsity girls volleyball captain. Her favorite movies are “The Edge of 17” and “10 Things I Hate About You.”

Established in 2016, the Mirror is an award-winning student-run online publication designed to deliver timely, accurate news as well as unique and eye-opening opinions, reviews and photography to the Van Nuys High School community. It exists as a platform for students to utilize their First Amendment right to express themselves freely and without fear.
