Angie Diaz, a senior, is on the staff of The Mirror, the award-winning student newspaper and website at Van Nuys High School in Los Angeles. This is her first year of journalism, and she enjoys writing opinion pieces because they let her debate and share her perspective, especially on topics she feels strongly about. In her free time, Diaz likes to read, listen to music and play Minecraft, where she enjoys building and creating with her imagination. She is a big fan of Marvel, having grown up watching the movies and talking about them with friends. Diaz also enjoys painting and singing, which give her another way to be creative. Lady Gaga is her favorite artist, and her music often motivates her when she’s writing or studying. After high school, she plans to attend Pierce College to study psychology and hopes to become a therapist.
