Winning Down The Stretch vs. Canoga Park
October 3, 2017
GIRLS VOLLEYBALL: Varsity builds momentum in their playoff push, JV struggles on their passing.
Heading into the final stretch of the season, Van Nuys traveled to Canoga Park on Monday, Oct.2.
Miscommunication from the start prevented the JV Girls from establishing a dominant offense. With inaccurate passes on receive, the Hunters took complete advantage as they swept the JV Wolves in straight sets.
Led by Emily Tsaturian #26 who had ten consecutive aces, the Varsity Wolves claimed the first set 25-14. Ball handling errors and net violations would cause Van Nuys to trail at the midpoint of the second set. However, a late offensive surge from Catalina Rodriguez #18 would lift to Van Nuys victory. Sustaining their previous momentum, the Wolves coasted themselves to a third set victory.
Final Score: 25-14, 25-15, 25-21
