For the first time in ten years international star Bruno Mars, is set to drop a new album February 27th.
The album, “The Romantic” has been surrounded with hype since Mars first announced the completion of the album over social media sending fans and media alike into a frenzy. The excitement only grew after he released one of the songs featured on the album, “I just might.” A song that has already reached 26 million plays on Spotify alone.
If there was one word to describe Bruno Mars’ musical makeup, it would be range. His music incorporates so many genres. Everything from pop, soul, rock, reggae and some ‘70’s-’80’s funk. All seamlessly melded together to produce unique but familiar music.
The man can sing, dance, put on a show, and one unfortunate time rap. He’s one of the best artists of all time and he has the Grammys to back it up.
The 16 time Grammy winner is one of the biggest artists in the world. His last album, “24K Magic” won all six Grammys it was nominated for, a clean sweep so to say.
There’s an unmistakable feeling when you put on a Mars song, and his latest song, “I Just Might” is no different. Filled with a classic ‘70s vibe the song is the classic Mars. Despite mixed reviews it’s undeniably catchy, and upbeat.
I’ll never understand people calling it underwhelming, the song captures everything I love about Bruno. The vibe, the vocals, the beat and the feels of it all. It’s really everything you could ever hope for in a Bruno song. All of it done to perfection. Already an all time favorite, and an amazing album teaser.
Along with the new Album Bruno also announced a new tour spanning from April all the way to Oct., traveling across the country as well as parts of Europe and Canada. Tickets are already selling out fast and are currently still on sale. The cheapest being priced around $95 – $200, and the more expensive tickets being priced at thousands of dollars.
You may be wondering why it took 10 years to release an album. The answer is quality over quantity. Bruno prides himself in his perfection and that the creative process takes time. For him, it takes years and years to make songs that are just the way he wants them to be. That’s exactly what sets him apart from other artists. He takes his time, makes the best work he can and then when it’s all done finally releases it.
Now the real question is whether the album was worth the wait. For me, every second of the wait was worth it. I love it honestly, it makes it so when he releases music it’s that much better. The new song alone is some of his best work let alone a whole album. The album is almost guaranteed to have hit after hit and I personally cannot wait to listen to it.
